Inventory & production software for makers

The workshop back office for makers who build what they sell.

Track raw materials, bills of materials, builds and finished stock. Connect your website and QuickBooks Online. Your shop floor, your online store and your books finally agree.

No sign-up for the demo. It runs right in your browser.

TFM Manufacturing

You make things by hand. Your spreadsheet says you have 14 walnut blanks, your shop says a panel is in stock, and your accountant wants to know what last month's inventory was worth. None of these agree.

TFM Manufacturing keeps your workshop, your online shop and your books in step, so you can get back to building.

Why makers choose us

Everything between raw material and a happy customer

Know what everything costs

  • Bills of materials for each variant. Maple and walnut versions use different wood, so each gets its own BOM.
  • Every build records its material cost when it starts. Later price changes don't rewrite history.
  • Contribution margin report: each product's price, cost and margin, plus how many you need to sell to cover a month's operating expenses.
  • Inventory report: raw materials, work in progress and finished goods, each valued, with a CSV for your accountant.

Sell things that aren't built yet

  • Your website shows "In stock", "Made to order, 4–6 weeks" or "Out of stock" from live counts, through our API.
  • If an item has no lead time and runs out, it simply can't be ordered, so you never oversell.
  • Orders reserve stock as soon as they arrive. Whatever isn't on the shelf goes straight onto the build list.
  • Deposits and partial payments, with the balance due tracked on every order.

Run the shop floor

  • One click starts a build for an order. Materials are drawn down, and finished units are set aside for that customer when the build is done.
  • "Use stock" puts units already on the shelf toward an order that's waiting.
  • R&D builds for prototypes: materials count as R&D spending, not inventory. If a prototype is good enough to sell, move it into stock.
  • Low-stock warnings on materials before you run out mid-build.

Every order, from start to finish

  • Partial shipments, each with its own carrier and tracking number, sent back to your website.
  • Refunds of any kind: cancel units that haven't shipped, refund units that have, and put returned goods back into stock.
  • Manual orders for phone, craft-fair and wholesale sales, alongside your website orders.
  • Order status updates itself from what's been built, shipped and refunded. You never set it by hand.

Growth plan

Accounting that matches reality

Connect QuickBooks Online and every material used, build completed, order shipped, payment taken and refund given becomes the right entry automatically, from raw materials to work in progress to finished goods to cost of goods sold.

  • Journal entries for builds, with R&D kept out of inventory
  • An invoice for every shipment, with deposits applied
  • Weighted average costing for finished goods
  • Entries queued and retried, so nothing is lost or posted twice

How it works

Up and running in an afternoon

  1. 1

Set up your materials and products

Add raw materials with their units and costs, then a bill of materials for each product. Bring in your opening stock counts.

  2. 2

    Build and sell

Start builds for stock or for orders. Materials come out, finished goods go in, and every order knows what's ready to ship.

  3. 3

    Connect your website and books

Your site reads stock and sends orders through the API. On Growth, QuickBooks Online gets every entry automatically.

Your website, through our API

Live stock status, orders in, tracking out. Works with custom sites and any platform that can call an API. Webhooks on Growth.
