Twelfth Fret Music Co. designs and builds guitars, stands, studio racks, acoustic panels and pedals in Brooklyn, NY. We built TFM Manufacturing to run our own shop. Now it runs yours.

Why we made it

Like most small manufacturers, we started with spreadsheets. One for wood, one for parts, one for orders, and a shoebox of receipts for the accountant. They never agreed. We'd promise a stand that was "in stock" and find the last one had already shipped, or discover halfway through a run that we were out of the walnut we needed.

Big ERP systems were built for factories, not workshops: expensive, slow to set up, and full of features we'd never use. So we built our own. One place that knows every material, every bill of materials, every build and every order, tells our website the truth about stock, and posts the accounting properly.

TFM Manufacturing is that system, made for every maker: carpenters, luthiers, metal fabricators, electronics and pedal builders, and anyone who turns materials into products.

The team

Meet the founders

Peter Biondo

Co-Founder

Peter is a co-founder of Twelfth Fret Music Co. and the creator of TFM Manufacturing. With a background in accounting and software engineering, he brings together the two things every workshop has to get right: what's on the shelf, and what it's worth on the books. TFM Manufacturing started as the tool Peter built to run Twelfth Fret Music's own production, tracking every board, part and build from raw material to a customer's doorstep, and posting the accounting correctly along the way. Once it was keeping the shop, the website and the books in step, it was clear other makers needed the same thing. His musical background includes a Certificate in Professional Jazz Guitar from Berklee Online and participation in NYU's Film Scoring Workshop. Peter grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where he first started making music with his longtime friend and co-founder, Tarek Zantout.

Tarek Zantout

Co-Founder

Tarek Zantout is a musician, builder and entrepreneur with a hands-on background in fabrication, engineering, project management and design. He has spent years building and modifying instruments, pedals, studio equipment and custom pieces, combining traditional handmade craftsmanship with modern tools. At Twelfth Fret Music, Tarek runs the bench: guitars, stands, racks, acoustic panels and pedals, each with its own materials, parts and build steps. TFM Manufacturing is shaped by that work. Every feature had to hold up in a real shop, with real wood, real components and real customers waiting. Tarek approaches business, building and life with the same philosophy: love what you do, believe every idea can grow into something beautiful, and lead with kindness.
